I share my love of reading with my two daughters and my granddaughter. One daughter loves romance, the other loves mystery and my granddaughter, twenty-one, reads a variety of books. Reviewing books has introduced me to many authors that are new to me. When I read a book to review and enjoy it I usually try to obtain other books by that author. I work part-time and my main interest is reading.

Rogue Males is a book that belongs in the library of every mystery fan and a wonderful reference for aspiring authors. McDonald interviews sixteen authors and gives readers an insight into their personalities and writing methods.
Between the pages of Rogue Males, you will find in-depth discussions with James Crumley, Elmore Leonard, Daniel Woodrell, Alistair MacLeod, Andrew Vachss, James Ellroy, Max Allan Collins, Stephen J. Cannell, Craig Holden, Pete Dexter, Randy Wayne White, Lee Child, Tom Russell, Kinky Friedman, James Sallas and Ken Bruen. I am sure mystery readers everywhere will find several of their favorites among this list.
Craig McDonald previously published “Art In the Blood” a collection of interviews with twenty major crime writers. I do not own this book but after reading “Rogue Males”, I intend to be sure and obtain a copy.
Many of the authors listed are among my favorites. Some of the authors interviewed are new to me – not their names but the books they have written. Reading the interviews has given me a new list of authors to be sure and read.
“Head Games” by Craig McDonald was a great book and “Rogue Males” is an outstanding book.
