Mary Magruder Katz is a Miami attorney who has suddenly found herself overwhelmed with work.  Judge Liz Maxwell who is being investigated for dismissing drug cases without just cause has hired Katz.  Katz has a lot of respect for Judge Maxwell and is determined to prove that she is innocent of any wrongdoing.

 

Carlos Martin, Katz’s boyfriend has asked her to check on Luis Corona, the son of an old family friend.  Katz visits Luis at the jail and finds that Luis is now charged with terrorism and that she is now front-page news.  Before she can catch her breath, she finds that the authorities have whisked Luis away.  No one will reveal Luis' location.

 

Carlos is also having a little legal trouble of his own.  While Mary is trying to juggle her two high profile cases and be sympathetic towards Carlos’ problems Mary and Carlos’ parents have decided to arrange a dinner party for the families to get acquainted.

 

Mary manages to juggle all of her personal and professional problems in inventive ways to bring the story to an exciting and satisfying conclusion.

 

The first book in the series is Fatal February.  It is not necessary to read the first book in the series in order to enjoy Justice In June.
